2023 Jeanneret Watervale Riesling
2023 Jeanneret Watervale Riesling
Palest yellow, and flecked with green, the 2023 Watervale Riesling has a wonderfully fresh nose of apple, honeydew melon, flowers and citrus. The zesty palate has lots of apple and citrus fruit again, together with a touch of something more, giving an attractive tropical softness to the fruit. Elegant, generous and lively, it's lovely to drink now but will last for at least the next ten years. Drink on its own or with all sorts of food; prawns, sushi, oysters, smoked trout and salmon, crab and squid are all good, but you can cast your net wider than that and include Thai beef salad and all sorts of chicken dishes. And as long as the other flavours in a dish are not too severe, coriander and ginger are potentially excellent matches.
