The 2022 Jeanneret Cabernet Shiraz is Cabernet Sauvignon dominant but with plenty of Shiraz in this most Australian of blends. There’s lots of lovely dark fruit on the nose led by blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry. There’s lots more of the same delicious fruit on the palate and the interplay between the fruit, the tannins and the gentle acid gives the wine a delicious, mouth-watering and very moreish tension. And that character will make the wine an excellent partner to food. Try it with steak, pork, good sausages, stuffed mushrooms, black pudding or kangaroo.
